- 3 phase converter circuit using SCR with resistive load
To perform a SCR as a halfwave rectifier with resistive inductive load. First of connect all the component as shown in the figure. Use current probe for current waveform. Use BT150 or BT 151 scr , which are mostly used in the market.
As shown in the above figure here we have used three different SCR for three phase .
To turn on each SCR for perticular time we have used thee different pulse generator.
There are two types of three phase connection
- Wye connection type (R,Y,B,N))
- Delta connction type(R,Y,B)
Here we have used wye connection. Phase difference between each signal must be 120 degree.
For above example we have used cycle of 24m second so that it is easy to set firing angle.
Here 24msec= 360 degree.
2 msec=30 degree.
Note that in 3 phase firing angle is zero at 30 degree of the line waveform. To set firing angle=30 degree we have to set it for 60 degree of main line waveform. So for R signal which is connected to D1 SCR we have to set delay time = 4msec.
For Y signal which lagging 120 degree of R signal, delay time = 120 degree + 60 degree, delay time = 12msec. Same thing for B signal which is lagging 120 degree of Y signal, delay time=120+120+60 degree, delay time= 20msec.
You can get following wave form.
Output signal = Yellow waveform.
3 phase= R,B,G waveform.
